Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and houseplants, along with soil, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries usually grow part of their own stock and carry varieties suited to the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Plant shops focus on houseplants, succulents and orchids, often with repotting help. Greenhouses and growers sell seedlings and bedding plants in spring, and many offer wholesale prices to landscapers. Landscape designers plan planting beds, patios and irrigation, and some garden centers offer design and installation services as well.

Toms River is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Toms River is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Delโs Nursery is the only place we go. Period. The plants are always healthy, the selection is solid, and you can tell this isnโt some big-box garden center pretending to careโthis place actually does. Staff knows what theyโre talking about, answers real questions, and doesnโt make you feel rushed or clueless. Every time weโve planted something from here, it thrives, which says everything you need to know. Verdict: 5 stars. If youโre going anywhere else, youโre doing it wrong.โ*

Stopped here for some quick pumpkin picking and we were very happy! It was such a cute, quiet place with lots to offer. Pumpkins were fairly priced and a small market inside. Plenty of fall mums to choose from. The staff was very friendly and even offered us some free bananas. Great place!

I love this place. It's a lovely family-owned business and has been here for many years. We shop there throughout the year through all the seasons and their stock is always in abundance and well maintained. There's nothing better than going to a garden center seeing that they take care of all of their plant stock. Often you'll go to those commercial stores and the poor plants are dying because of lack of water, and wind damage from being outside. They have a great location on the west side of 37 East before the bridge to Seaside, New Jersey. The only issue is the parking, I haven't spoken to anyone but it seems they lost the lot they were sharing with a restaurant. But I'm glad it doesn't seem to affect the consumers. You just need to find off peek times and park on the streets. Still, such a great place to journey through the maze of plants, trees and flowers. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed! The pictures I uploaded are a little artsy (amateur photographer) but show the beauty of the flowers and veggies. Enjoy!
